China Gloryview Cooperated with World-Renowned AI Company Singularity Studio in Establishing a Smart City Research Institute

On June 7th, 2019 China (Guangdong)-U.S. Investment Cooperation Conference, hosted by People’s Government of Guangdong Province and U.S. Chamber of Commerce and organized by the Department of Commerce and Foreign Affairs Office of Guangdong Province, was held in Fairmont Hotel in San Francisco. About 400 guests attended the conference, including Vice Governor of Guangdong Province Ouyang Weimin, Chinese Deputy Consul General Zhang Jianxin, Executive Vice President of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Myron Brilliant, President and CEO of the Bay Area Council Jim Wunderman, and Vice Director of the Department of Commerce of Guangdong Province Fu Yongge. Other guests were entrepreneurs from Guangdong Commercial and Trade Delegation, leaders from Fortune 500 companies and mainstream media like Xinhua News Agency and People’s Daily.


Dr. Ben Goertzel, Chairman of the Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AAAI), Father of artificial general intelligence (AGI) and CEO of Singularity Studio, and Ouyang Hua, Founder and President of Gloryview were invited to 2019 China (Guangdong)-U.S. Investment Cooperation Conference. As representatives of their companies, they also attended “Signing Ceremony for Strategic Cooperation and Awarding Ceremony of Internet of Things Association of Guangdong Province for Honorary Presidents” in the San Francisco headquarter of VLP Global Innovation Center that afternoon.

As a subsidiary of a well-known American AI platform SingularityNET, Singularity Studio aims at providing solutions for enterprises and governments. This time it cooperated with Gloryview, a leading Chinese company in the field of smart city research and development to jointly establish Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Smart City Artificial Intelligence International Research Institute (GBAI). This strategic partnership focuses on the research and commercial application of AI in smart cities and tries to promote AI in China and elsewhere under the Belt and Road Initiative. With the aim of deploying AI in medicine, finance, agriculture and tourism, GBAI announced that it will set up a base in Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, which consists of two special administrative regions and nine southern cities.

Dr. Ben Goertzel, Chairman of AAAI, Father of AGI and CEO of Singularity Studio said, “This is a mutually beneficial strategic partnership between our two companies. Gloryview has rich and successful experiences in the research and development of smart cities while Singularity Studio can supply powerful AI technology. Together we can achieve success in China and elsewhere in the world.” Goertzel saw extra value in applying this technology to agriculture. According to him, “the sustainable development of agriculture is of great significance to China, or even to the whole world.” Goertzel believed that by combining AI with Internet of Things (IoT), it is possible to achieve accurate ecological agriculture, pest control, block chainsupply chain logistics, correlation analysis of crop growth and environment, and predictive analysis of regional crop yields and market climate.

Founder and President of Gloryview Ouyang Hua said, “The goal of GBAI is to extend the application of the new generation of AI and AGI to the core smart city development market. Close attention should be paid to predictive analysis, building system modeling, energy optimization systems and related applications so as to provide great AI solutions to the construction of smart cities. Healthcare is also an industry of major concern. GBAI will further develop AI in the diagnosis, prevention and prediction of general healthy people and provide this industry with researches on portrait of health condition (big data), block chain drug tracing, and anti-aging technology. For many years, we have been focusing on the development of smart cities in China. There is still a lot of work to do before reaching the highest level. Working together with Singularity Studio, we will be able to take China’s smart city technology to new high. We will also share our application and development of smart cities to the whole world through this platform. Ouyang Hua also said, “Tourism is another area of great concern. This is an industry led by China and China is one of the world’s most important countries in tourism.” Therefore, GBAI plans to develop smart tourism by using robots, optimizing systems including transportation, accommodation, shopping and tourism, and providing travel promotions, VIP customization and personalized services.

Yu Zelong is the Chairman of Internet of Things Association of Guangdong Province, which is the first provincial Internet of Things Association in China. He introduced that as a member unit of Internet of Things Association of Guangdong Province, Gloryview set up its headquarter in Guangzhou Hi-Tech Industrial Development Zone and consists of “Intelligent Engineering Research and Development Center of Guangdong Province” and “Guangzhou Gloryview Big Data Application Research Institute”. He congratulated this project and hoped for diversified cooperation in the future and new channels of innovation-driven development in both countries. During the meeting, he awarded Honorary Presidents and appointment letters to Dr. Cindy Cui, Dr. Ben Goertzel and Mr. Ouyang Hua on the behalf of Internet of Things Association of Guangdong Province and hoped that they create new and greater opportunities for cooperation between China and the United States and promote deep cooperation and coordinated development of the two bay areas of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao and San Francisco.
