VLP Global Innovation Center was Invited to Attend the First Global Bay Area Forum

On 11-12 January, 2020, the first Global Bay Area Forum, co-hosted by CASISD, National School of Administration, High-end Think Tank of Central Party School (China National Academy of Administration), Chinese Association of Development Strategy Studies, International Cooperation Center of National Development and Reform Commission of China, Strategic Research Institute of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and co-sponsored by Mossavar-Rahmani Center for Business and Government of Kennedy School, Harvard University and Bulletin of Chinese Academy of Sciences.

Dr. Cindy Cui, Chairman of VLP Global Innovation Center and New Silicon Valley Offshore Development Center, headquartered in San Francisco Bay Area, was invited to attend the forum and delivered a keynote speech on the theme of “Silicon Valley Real Innovation” which attracted the attendees’ attentions. Focusing on the theme of innovative education, industrial trade and environment in the Bay Area, she introduced the development and features of the world’s major global bay areas, the innovation entrepreneurial culture, successful administration and innovative management of Silicon Valley broadly and profoundly. VLP Global Innovation Center and New Silicon Valley Offshore Development Center will facilitate the China-US cooperation under the background of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area to open a new chapter.

Prominent figures in business, academia, and politics from around the world, including China, the United States, Singapore and some European countries gathered at academic hall of Chinese Academy of Sciences. More than 150 representatives attended the forum, including Harvard University, Stanford University, Berkeley University, University of Southern California, San Francisco Global Office, Capital of California, Milbury, CA, Asia Society, National University of Singapore, World Bank East Asia Pacific region, KPMG, British Chinese Trade Association, South American chamber of commerce, San Francisco Bay Area Council, Shenzhen Zhenqianhai, legal group, Beijing Federation of industry and Commerce, Guangdong Provincial Development and Reform Commission, NASDAQ China, Strategic Research Institute of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, CCB head office, Zhongke Shenglian, China Science and technology energy conservation, Shandong Port, Guangdong Academy of Sciences, Hong Kong University, Tsinghua University, National Chung Hsing University, Xinhua News Agency, etc.

At the working meeting held on January 12,  attendees discussed and announced the Charter of Global Bay Area  adopted the draft articles of association of the Global Bay Area Council, the Voting Result for the Council Members and Co Secretary General and the future of work to 2020. Dr. Cindy Cui was elected as member of the Global Bay Area Council.

The attendees had a lively discussions on technological innovation, industrial trade, investment, finance, health education,  social governance, etc., and highlighted the special significance of the development of the world's major bay areas for global development.
